Little Bear is still at the vets. His second night after an early hours dash to the emergency service yesterday.
We picked him up at 7.30am to transfer him to our regular vet. He managed a few wags when he saw me but was very subdued and wobbly.
At midday the vet said he was lethargic, depressed and refusing food. X-ray showed a large body of gas has moved through the gut from last night which is good news and even better, he doesn’t seem to think its pancreatitis, although we’ll need to wait for the blood results.
What we still don’t have though is an explanation for what did cause the vomiting, diarrhoea and severe abdominal pain. More X-rays tomorrow will hopefully shed a little more light.
He perked up in time for my visit at 3pm and decided to eat on condition I fed it to him by hand 🙂
He’s still a very poorly pup but I’m hoping tomorrow will bring more good news.
Night night my Little Bear. Mamma loves you. Xxx
He’s so handsome inhis truck bandage… Please see the good in this, part of his sad demeanor is from being away from you… My daughter and I would go visit our bonnie every afternoon and also feed her by hand till she grew accustomed to the nurses at the vets and she started eating from their hand… He’s standing, my friend, that is so good… Keep the faith, big hug to you and to your little and very strong bear, Alexandra

Thanks Alexandra, I’m keeping positive and it’s a great sign that he’s eating and keeping it down. Poor Bonnie, that must have been an awful week for you, especially if she’s nervous. He’s a real flirt, especially with the ladies so it’s something at least that he’s not too worried by strangers. I was tickled by the truck bandage too. Apparently there are lots to choose from, but they obviously thought he was more suited to trucks than fluffy ducks.

Oh bless him he does look sad. It must be so hard for you. Hope he has a comfortable night and continues to improve tomorrow. Hope you manage to get some sleep too x

Thanks Sue, it’s not been a great few days. Feeling a little better today though, I only got a couple of hours sleep on Thursday night so wasn’t really firing on all cylinders. Vet said he was brighter this morning and kept down the food he ate so that’s majorly good news 🙂
